Compassionate Action for Animals

Midwest Animal Advocacy Conference 2008

Their Lives, Our Voices 2008 seeks to bring together individuals from across the region for a hands-on, high-quality conference focused on helping animals. Their goal is to make the conference as inclusive and accessible as possible for both new and veteran activists in the Midwest region, with a focus on farmed animal advocacy efforts. They want to enable as much attendee participation and networking as possible, so go out to support the animals and the environment. The more vegan, vegetarians, and fellow supporters will help make this a great event.

This conference is being organized by Compassionate Action for Animals, an animal advocacy organization based in Minneapolis, MN.

The conference will take place Friday, June 6 through Sunday, June 8, at the Hubert H. Humphrey Conference Center in Minneapolis, MN.

Vegan For A Month

I've been a vegetarian for a little over a year now, and honestly I don't see what the big deal is. I mean it wasn't a struggle or even an adjustment like so many other herbivores may claim - I just started eating really good food! The real test of will power lies in the all vegan diet.
I'm half way through the book Vegan: The Ethics of What We Eat by Eric Marcus and I'm completely sold on veganism on nearly every issue from cholesterol to inhumane hatcheries of the poultry industry.
So, I'v decided to make September my Vegan For A Month Challenge, and I'm going to be posting updates, recipes, and inspiring perhaps even infuriating news reports to hopefully spread awareness about the benefits of a vegan or even just vegetarian lifestyle, and hopefully convince a few meat eaters that vegetables are totally boss.
